Stuart visits Seattle

Stuart is back in the U.S.A. and taking a short break from life in China. We are SO psyched that he came to see the baby and is spending a few days with us. But we do wish Brooke and Ocean had come with him!

Places we went so far: Chipotle, steakhouse, Salumi sandwich shop, chocolate factory, Costco to stock up for his trip back to my motherland, Best Buy, and the mall.

At Theo's chocolate factory, a fave destination for us.

Fantastic sandwich place in Seattle...the three of us shared a salami sandwich, pork butt sandwich, a porchetta sandwich, and a meatball sub. Man, we are what we eat.

Happy almost hump day

Dare I say that we might have had a milestone last night. The babe slept for more than 2 hours, maybe even close to 3. Happy 7 weeks to her and happy sleeping to me.

1 month already?!

Violet is almost 5 weeks old. At the 1-month checkup, she weighed in at 9lbs 9oz, which is almost 3 lbs more than her birth weight. And she grew 2 inches. Holy moly. She still has a small head though. Phew. Some recent pictures below...

Violet's smiles and giggles usually appear when she's sleeping. Maybe she's dreaming sweet dreams of food.

Not digging the tummy time...

Valentine's Day and Chinese New Year fell on the same day this year so we went out to brunch with Violet's two grandmas. It was her first outing at 6 days old.

Piggy

Violet has been so easy to care for that we feel we've really lucked out. The only time she cries is when she's hungry. Otherwise, she's either sleeping or wide eyed and content. She also doesn't mind an unchanged wet or dirty diaper.

We are blessed

Violet Jane Chang was born on February 8, 2010 at 2:38pm. She weighed 6lbs, 14 oz and is 20 inches long.

Life officially got better and it was pretty darn good to begin with. She brings us so much joy.

I think she looks like Jon. He thinks she looks like me. We keep discovering things about her that obviously came from one of us. Yeah, we're really into ourselves.

I am very proud of this tree decal that Jon and I slaved to adhere to this wall so I am posting three pictures of it just to show it off. It is safe to say that this will probably be the last time we spend so much time prepping for a baby. All the excitement of this babe got us deliriously foolish. But just this once.

I bought this baby memory book on Etsy and love that it isn't too girly or pink. I am being ambitious by getting it in the first place because I don't like to journal and I am especially no good at completing any sort of creative project.
