Just a few weeks ago, maybe between week 28 and 33, I couldn't get enough of the baby's movements. It was sweet and truly magical to feel her tumble gently inside. But with 6 more weeks to go, she is running out of room in there and she thinks my body will adjust to her rapid growth. Unfortunately for me, nothing of that sort is happening. It is starting to hurt. I try to push back on the part of my stomach where she kicks so that it trains her to stop but Jon thinks it's cruel. He says she feels my anger. Bah!

At 31 weeks, we went in for a closer look at the baby.

For most of the second trimester, all I wanted to eat was noodle soups and Chinese comfort food. Nowadays, I can't get enough of spicy fried chicken, pizza, and burgers. I suppose it's really a craving for MEAT. But gone are the days when I would do anything to get my hands on some Pinkberry frozen yogurt. When Jon and I land in California tomorrow, we're headed straight for In-N-Out.

Tim Tam Slam!!!

Thanks to our friends, Jarom and Becky, who taught us how to have fun while we were all in Ithaca, Jon and I can now continue this tradition at home in Kirkland.

Tim Tams are "Australia's favorite cookie" and Jarom learned the most awesome way to eat these tasty biscuits while he was on his mission in Australia. So when I saw these at Safeway (they used to be almost impossible to find in the States), I HAD to get them. Click here for a quick summary of how to do the Tim Tam Slam.

So in honor of Becky and Jarom and those golden moments in Ithaca, Jon and I slammed some Tim Tams last night.

MEAT

I promise this isn't just a craving. I go weak when I hear even a whisper of the word "pastrami" and will collapse at the hands of the best Jewish delis in America. I will boldly proclaim that New York's Katz's Deli is THE place to go to get the most tender and juicy pastrami on rye. It will turn a vegetarian back to the evil world of meat. The best part of this pastrami is the ribbons of melted fat that line each piece of meat. When you take that first bite, it will feel like Christmas and your insides will do a little dance.
